Sagittarius Compatibility with the Other Signs

Sagittarius is a questing, far-reaching, and sometimes arrogant sign; Sagittarius compatibility is something that needs some explaining.  Freedom is very important to a Sagittarius; relationships have a very definite chance of trying to hold them down. 

In order to have a successful relationship with Sagittarius you need to understand their zeal and need to find truth and their jet-setting nature.  They need to be able to fly off at a moments notice, as it were, to get an answer to a new spiritual guru, or they need to take a vacation at this new exotic location that they just heard about.  If you don’t try to keep them chained to home, you give them the freedom to come back to you. 

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, and it shares Jupiter’s love of ceremony, ritual, and grandiosity; and this is where Sagittarius’ infamous arrogance comes in.  Sagittarius’ weak point is its fear that enthusiastic enough, that it can’t get the “big picture”, or that life is basically hum-drum.  To compensate Sagittarius sometimes will act condescending, arrogantly, or will neglect the more boring details of life. 

Sagittarius is in polarity with Gemini, and they can form quite a dynamic pair.  Sagittarius keeps Gemini from getting too mundane or lost in the petty details, and Gemini keeps Sagittarius from flying off to nebulous, ultimately un-profitable ventures. 

Traditionally Sagittarius compatibility is with all the other fire signs: Aries and Leo; it is pretty good also with the air signs: Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius; it has a so-so compatibility with Taurus and Cancer; and it can have quite a problem with Virgo and Pisces.
